About RICE/LAUX Jay Co, INDIANA
This is the story of two families from Jay County Indiana. It weaves a trail of family, teachers, churchmembers and citizens who were influencial in our lives. In some respect it is a single family history of the westward trek across America. How does one explain the marriage of our children in Arizona to their ancestors who lived within 50 miles of each other 150 years ago. It includes a USAF family from the Cold War, parents from The Greatest Generation, a diary from a teen age girl crossing the frontier in a covered wagon, Railroad Giants, Oil field engineers, old and modern farmers, one room schoolhouses to Universities, Doctors & workingmen. I feel that I owe the community that I grew up in, a place in the History books of our nation. Jay County, Indiana is the real `middle America` where `Family Values were established long long ago.

Contributions came from all across America have been included in this volume. I apologize in advance for my errors and welcome your family connections, Sincerely, Richard L. Rice
